"Operation" Hand-Painted Linocut Print

Operation is a hand-carved linoleum block print, watercolored on 8x10" BFK Rives paper.

This print explores the politicization of female / queer bodies via self-portrait, showing the anguish that accompanies this loss of autonomy at the hands of the government.

The print depicts the famous family tabletop game, Operation, but the iconic patient has been replaced by a depiction of the artist. The ailments around her body are tiny US American flags that have punctured her skin.
